Hi, I am Caitlin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping children, and their families, grow, heal, and thrive through the power of play and authentic connection. And those are just fancy words. Whether your family is dealing with over the top 'toddler tantrums' or navigating the  'preteen eye rolls' phase, I am simply a person, here to support you and your needs.  Yes, by day, I am a therapist that helps kids navigate their emotions. And by… well...also day, I am more readily known as the fidget collector, epic Lego builder and master of Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza (if you know, you know)!

In the world of kids and adolescents, behaviors are often the primary language. These behaviors are like a secret code that needs to be cracked. Is this meltdown due to frustration from math class, anxiety related to friend drama, or simply because they haven’t eaten enough? Are they struggling to focus because they are worried about an upcoming test, because of an unresolved conflict at home or because they have ADHD? Is my kid not talking to me because they are 13 and too cool for school, or because they are isolating themselves? Perhaps you are here because you can relate to some of these questions.

Each child has their own behavioral language, but do not always have words to verbalize their experiences. This is why I go beyond using strictly traditional "talk therapy” when working with your child. While I incorporate materials from some traditional frameworks, such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, I believe that therapeutic play is one of most powerful tools in supporting kids in developing an emotional vocabulary.  I use intentional, playful interactions to learn about how your child sees their world, and to teach developmentally appropriate skills to manage emotions. Whether it is imaginative play with littles or a structured game with older kids, intentional play can foster emotional regulation, build resiliency, and strengthen a child’s sense of safety, at any age.

Additionally, I believe that meaningful relationships are a core part of the therapeutic process. I use empathy, curiosity, and humor to create an inviting space for your child to be their authentic self, and to build strong, supportive bonds for both you and your child. I see therapy as a team sport. I work collaboratively with the entire family unit, to equip all parties with the tools needed to foster healing at home.

Outside of my work, I find joy in spending time outdoors, playing with my hound, listening to music, and/or exploring new places. These experiences help me stay grounded and bring creativity and presence into my work with clients.
