When certain parts of our life feel outside of our control, it creates stress that impacts other parts of our life. Seeking help can feel like an additional stress. Not only do you have to find someone that you feel like is a good personality match, but you are expected to tell your story to someone you don’t know. That can be a hard thing to ask of someone.

In order for change to occur during therapy, there has to be a foundation of trust established within the relationship between the therapist and the client. As your therapist, I will be intentional in my use of patience and curiosity as we get to know each other. I am committed to meeting people where they are at, in an effort to create an environment where people feel safe enough to be vulnerable and push themselves into their “growth zone”.We will partner together to create  a plan that helps you safely explore your barriers and your pain.

Because each individual is unique, I draw from an eclectic approach of modalities; narrative therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, Emotion – Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, motivational interviewing, and Eye – Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Through curiosity, empathy, and trust, I strive to help individuals and their families safely navigate the challenges in their lives in order to live happier and healthier lives.

When  working with kids and teenagers, I understand the challenges of  helping someone who is experiencing life difficulties while also in the midst of identity development. In addition to helping someone learn how to regulate their emotions, I have found that a big piece of this work can be helping them learn the language needed to express and make sense of their experience. A vital part of working with kids and teens is addressing issues within the family system as a whole.. In working with the whole family, my goal is to help identify and disrupt dysfunctional patterns- individually and within the family system- that aren’t working and replace them with healthier patterns.

In my time providing trauma-informed support to families, adolescents, and adults, I have gained specialized knowledge working with:

  • Attachment Challenges

  • Attachment Challenges through adoptions

  • Depression and Anxiety

  • Substance/Alcohol use

  • Improving Self-Esteem

  • Traumatic Stress

  • Improving Social Skills

  • Emotion Regulation

  • Identity exploration

When I am not being a therapist, I enjoy exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, new towns and cities, and hiking and other outdoor activities. I am also a big fan of discovering new music and trying to catch as much live music as I can.
