Good to Know

Questions, answered.

A few of the things people ask before their first visit. Still wondering about something? We are always happy to talk it through.

Getting Started
Book a free 15-minute consultation online or by phone. We will learn what you are looking for, answer your questions, and match you with a counselor who fits your needs, identity, and goals.
We are currently accepting new clients. Book a free consultation and we'll let you know the soonest we can get you in with the right fit.
A relaxed 15-minute call to understand what you are looking for and match you with the right counselor. No commitment, no pressure.
Our clinicians collectively support children, teens, adults, couples, and families — including dedicated gender-affirming care. Each counselor lists the ages and focus areas they work with on their profile, and we will help you find the right fit.
Insurance & Payment
We're in-network with most major providers, and with a range of NC Medicaid plans. We verify your benefits before each session — no surprises.
We offer private-pay and sliding-scale sessions, and we can provide a superbill on request so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement from your insurer. We are glad to talk through the most affordable path to care on your free consultation.
Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or paying out of pocket are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before care begins. We provide one on request.
Sessions & Logistics
Yes — every service is available securely online anywhere in North Carolina, or in person at our Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynesville offices. Choose whatever fits your life.
A typical therapy session runs about 50 minutes. Your counselor will talk with you about frequency and what makes sense for your goals.
We are a counseling practice and do not prescribe medication. If medication may be helpful, your counselor can coordinate with your provider or help you find a prescriber.
Affirming Care & Privacy
Wholeheartedly. We provide affirming care for all identities, relationships, and family structures — including dedicated gender-affirming care, with many LGBTQIA+ clinicians on our team.
Yes. Your sessions are private and protected under HIPAA, with only the limited exceptions required by law (such as imminent safety concerns). Your counselor will walk you through this at your first visit.
