Hi, I’m Audrey! I’m so glad you’re considering therapy. Self-exploration and healing is important and courageous work, and finding the right therapist makes all the difference.

I am warm and compassionate yet direct in my approach. There may be some days where you need me to listen and help untangle your thoughts and feelings, and there may be other days where you need more dialogue, suggestions, or feedback. I am here for all of it! I work with teenagers, young adults, and couples.

Adolescence and young adulthood can be exciting and can also be incredibly stressful. Adulting is hard! I enjoy helping teenagers and young adults navigate life’s challenges while trying to figure out who they are. With individuals, my work is trauma-informed and attachment focused: significant healing can happen when we are simply in the presence of unconditional empathy and support. I utilize aspects of CBT to help folks challenge negative thinking patterns and underlying beliefs, and I am also trained in EMDR which we can utilize to help address traumas or more distressing events. We may a good fit if you find yourself struggling with:

-perfectionism

-people-pleasing

-difficulty setting boundaries

-negative self-talk and low self-confidence

-patterns of unhealthy relationships

-symptoms of trauma or complex trauma

-substance misuse, abuse, or addiction

-the impacts of growing up in a dysfunctional or alcoholic home

In my work with couples I utilize Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT). IBCT aims to help discover the patterns you are falling into as a couple and connect on a deeper emotional level to help you respond differently to one another. As a couples therapist I never take sides, and I aim to help each person feel heard and understood when sharing their experience. I aim to help couples build intimacy bridges to rediscover their connection and heal attachment wounds. I also enjoy seeing couples who want to see a therapist before getting married or making a long-term commitment in order to have important conversations that will help set your relationship up for success.

About Me:

I am a first-generation college student and have been living and working in Asheville for almost 10 years. I too have experienced traumas, grief, anxiety, and depression. I am a recovering people-pleaser and perfectionist, and have experienced my fair share of unhealthy relationships.  I take my own healing work seriously and believe whole-heartedly in therapy, both personally and professionally. I am an avid hiker and love hitting the trails with my dog, Finn. And don’t worry cat-people, I’ve got 3 kitties at home too! I also enjoy reading, crafts, and photography. I’m excited to get to know you!
